“Imagine the amazing good fortune of the generation that gets to see the end of the world. This is as marvelous as being there in the beginning.” -Jean Baudrillard

Like the stillness after a storm, the astrological new year is upon us. We are letting the light in and stepping into a new world. For the author, it feels like we’ve spent the last three and half decades in something like a slow recitation of T.S. Eliot’s “The Hollow Men”;

“Between the desire

And the spasm

Between the potency

And the existence

Between the essence

And the descent

Falls the Shadow

𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘥𝘰𝘮…” and those observing during this cataclysmic shift, can see that The Kingdom is at the brink. The Sun occupies 29 degrees Pisces, sitting semisextile the moon, represented as the 10 of Cups (Satiety) and 4 of Swords (Truce), respectively. The moon at 29 degrees Libra is also, at the time of the equinox, just beginning to fade an exact square with Pluto (Aeon.) Here, we see the finish line. The end is present, passive, and paused. On an individual level, concessions should be made to simply satiate either ourselves or our closest influences. Moving forward here is informed entirely by the past, which doesn’t change the meaning of spring as a time of rebirth, but does acknowledge that any further unlearned lessons will have long term consequences. Accept the terms and conditions laid upon you, as fighting will do no good at this point, and you need to use that energy later. The future will require you at your maximum.

Venus (The Empress) is conjunct Mars (The Tower), as it has been since mid-February. This equinox sees these two within Aquarius’ 2nd decan, represented as the 6 of Swords. Crowley’s Thoth deck titles this card Science, which has taken a more modern meaning since the 21st century began. Science in the exoteric could certainly be highlighted this year, as it has already been at the forefront of political discourse in the western world since March of 2020. Science in the esoteric, however, is without a question being influenced. The Empress is a card of creation while The Tower is a card of destruction, and as such, this incredibly personal, internal conflict requires us to seek grace, compassion, and whatever humanity we can. This extends beyond ourselves, but ultimately you need to take care of yourself first. Again, the theme is acceptance. These cards suggest doing so by strengthening your subconscious to better prepare for you for what is ahead.

Have we entered World War III? Is there a Great Reset? Why are there suddenly reversals of “facts” by major media outlets? Will climate changes accelerate? Currency breakdown? Hyperinflation? Food shortages? A devastating pandemic still lingering in the shadows?
